New York will have quite a job on its hands, getting rid of the mercury. Didn’t NYS just pass a bill banning incandescent bulbs for the new energy-efficient bulbs? These new bulbs are filled with mercury. No word on how the state plans on disposal of these bulbs, since, in large amounts, can be considered hazardous waste. Interesting. Then again, maybe by passing this bulb legislation and passing mercury standards, NYS once again is ensuring that “jobs” are “created”—the never-ending cycle of legislating inefficiency and waste-management. Smart.

incandescent light bulbs should be phased out because they waste a lot of electrical energy;:~
